The theory of Plate Tectonics

Vocabulary

scientific theory: A well tested concept that explains a wide range of observations
Plate Tectonics: A geological theory that states that earth's lithosphere are in constant, slow motion, driven by conversion currents.
Faults:Breaks in earth's crust where rocks slipped past each other
Transform boundary:A place where two plates slip past each other, moving in oppistite directons.
Divergent Boundary:The place where tow plates move apart.
Rift valley: A deep valley that frames along the divergent.
Convergent boundary:where two plates come together and collide.
